Scanography

Fern fronds, a sprig of eucalyptus and a single mottled feather lie pressed directly on a flatbed scanner glass against pure black. No letters, words, signs or logos anywhere in the image. A real photograph in the scanography genre, captured directly at a flatbed scanning plane with lensless, flat-field perspective, shallow depth away from the glass and fine scanning noise. One narrow scanner light travels beneath the plane, grazing contact edges and letting raised surfaces fall quickly into shade. Direct surface texture, plausible overlaps and gentle edge falloff sit in a cool, precise colour finish.
