Risograph print in two to four flat spot inks: every form is a solid ink layer with grainy speckled coverage, slight misregistration so layers drift a little past each other, and visible overprint as two inks overlap into a third tone. Shading uses coarse halftone dots or rough stipple grain, edges are soft and slightly broken, and small ink voids appear across solid areas. Faces keep their own features as simple ink shapes with a single dark line for eyes, hair as solid ink masses, and animal coats as grainy layered tone. Resemblance lives in silhouette and large colour areas. A tall scene of a perfectly aligned sushi roll set on a dark plate, surrounded by a torrent of flying pickled ginger slices, wasabi and sesame seeds frozen in the air; no people, a two-ink risograph look with grainy halftone and slightly offset overprint, the sushi rising through the tall frame. No readable text, lettering, signs or logos anywhere; the picture fills the whole frame edge to edge, painted right to the borders with no blank margin, no checkerboard or transparency pattern.
Palette: coral red and teal on warm paper; playful, graphic.
Tall 9:16 portrait frame, composed vertically with the main line of the scene rising through the height of the frame.
